I have been a regular customer at this
Denny's for several years. I have noticed that within the past two years, the menu and the service have declined steadily. On January 18, 2020, at about 6:30 PM, a lady friend and I went to the Denny's, mentioned above. I ordered the chicken parmesan skillet dinner. The meal was awful and I ate only a small portion of it. The chicken was rubbery and the brussell sprouts were burnt on the outside and almost raw on the inside. The waitress was atrocious. I had order two take out meals and the meals were not prepared correctly. The lady, who was with me, had ordered a club sandwich with seasoned fries. I ate one of the fries and it felt like I was trying to chew a stick. The lady requested a carry out box for half of her sandwich. The waitress brought the container and threw it down on the table in front of her. I decided to leave and went to the register. I attempted to pay for my meal with a Denny's gift card. The cashier / waitress did not know how to process the payment and called to our waitress for assistance. I told her to forget this method of payment and used a debit card. To be candid, there in only one waiter, at this location and this time period, who is good. His name is Jeremy and he was not present this evening. I am seriously considering never returning to this location. I believe that I could have received better service and food at a fast food location. This is not just my view. I have spoken to several people who have stopped eating at this Denny's because of the menu selection and the service.
I would had marked 0 stars. Vanessa was a horrible waitress, she never came to take my order so I had to ask for another waitress. She had a really bad attitude towards me. Not busy at all, so I don’t understand if it is because, I was alone or if it was because I am white since I did notice that all other customers were waited on immediately upon sitting When I got the food from Lorena, the only thing that was warm was the gravy, the mash potatoes, the squash and zucchini was cold, also I received burnt brown toast (not garlic bread like I was suppose to get). I get Denny’s at least twice a month and have never been treated like I was less than anyone else nor my food taste so cold. I ate it because I was embarrassed due to the way I was treated in front of other customers and didn’t want that to be carried on longer! Vanessa should not work as a waitress anywhere!!!!
This is not a complaint, I just wanted to let your company know about a server in your Port Charlotte Dennys gives outstanding customer service .We always as for her every time we go there . Its really to bad other servers cant be the same way. I think she should be commended for her over and beyond service .Dave N
That last time I wrote a review I forgot to mention servers name that gives us world class service . Her name is Grace . She should be recognized for her service she always gives us , that is why we keep going back . Dave Nasidka
