We booked two American Airlines trip tickets from Hong Kong to Santiago, where we would start our cruise trip to Antarctica in February 2020. But due to the virus outbreak, we had to return to Hong Kong while we were about to transit to Santiago in London because we were denied boarding the cruise. I started calling Expedia for refund on 18 February ,as the American Airlines had confirmed that a refund has been processed back to the travel agency we bought the tickets from, that is Expedia.
I called many many times, often had to wait for a long long time during February and March. I was told that our tickets were non-refundable by Expedia but when I told them that AA has confirmed that there is a refund, I was told to wait for further investigation for two weeks, and then two weeks... the travel experts who answered the calls always promised to follow up my case, but, until now, when I call Expedia, I have to repeat the same details of my case, and I am told to wait when I mention that AA has confirmed they have processed my refund to Expedia. This annoying experience makes me wonder why Expedia can be so disappointing as I used to believe Expedia is credible and trustworthy. Who is going to look into my case and give us back the refund that we are entitled to???
I was overcharged by the hotel and called Expedia to refund me the overcharged amount. I was given the run around both by the hotel and Expedia and tons of excuses. Neither company wants to take responsibility for their mistake of overcharging. Will not use Expedia ever again and instead offered me a 20% off coupon. Never again. This is after speaking with multiple reps. and 2 so called supervisors.
if I can give 0 starts I would I haven't been able to contact them I been calling for 20 days since my trip that I need a refund due to covid-19 and they don't answer the phone it is the worst agency that I travelled with the worst customer service! they don't even have customer service .
Planned a trip NY next week with my family (kids first time flyers) due to the CORONAVIRUS I called yesterday to get a refund and Expedia said I was not able to get one and I had to change my location, so not thinking I did and changed destinations which then now you cannot go there. Called today and waited 10 hours to talk to someone who said, sorry you already called yesterday and now you made your choice and we cannot help you. They said SORRY and hung up! Now contracting the actual airlines to see if they can help us. This is the most dissatisfying service during this time. WOW! We will never use Expedia ever again.
I had a trip book to Italy in April and due to the Coronavirus I cancelled our trip yesterday. As of today 2/28/2020 Italy is now a level 3 with no travel. I had to pay yesterday a modification fee of $325.00 per a person in order to change our tickets to a different location. Today due to ITALY being a level 3 I called Expedia requesting a refund or credit for the $325.00 fee I had to pay per a person. Expedia told me that today and is today and yesterday was yesterday. Since I did not cancel my ticket today I do not get the credit/refund. I am within 24 hours and should atleast receive a credit.
While booking flights the prices are shown in Singapore dollars and later on while paying the fare changed to USD with same amount
While booking I saw SGD 2048 , during payment it came to USD 2048
although i used Expedia for many years, when and if you need to cancel a hotel or air travel you are pretty much screwed, i made a reservation and in my error put the wrong date, I added a date to the trip, as soon as i realized it 6 hrs later, i tried to contact expedia to make the changes, it was very difficulty to find who to contact on the site, then I called the hotel to cancel and they said they could not cancel because it was booked through Expedia, I send hours on the phone and 2 occasions to cancel the extra night at the hotel I was staying at, they told me you must cancel the whole stay and rebook. when I finally got someone to cancel the hotel (that is what i thought ) the rooms were not available anymore and I had to rebook to another hotel...
Bottom line - the guy from Expedia who told me he cancelled the reservation NEVER cancelled it and now i am paying for 3 nights of a hotel I never used, I contacted both my credit card company and expedia and they will not honor the refund, NOTE Expedia has a 20 page legal document which covers them if they decide not to make good on there word
