Good Morning,

I am writing due to a customer complaint in reference to the store located at 2160 Lemoine Avenue Fort Lee NJ.
With everything that is happening in the world today, I am appalled at the behavior your employees displayed on yesterday afternoon.
My sister who is African American and my niece who is Half African American and white experienced racism in your store at 2:51pm on 06/03/20.
They were racially profiled. They were purchasing a few items and before they could pay for those items, Linda an employee started to harass them.
She accused them of not scanning all of their items. Linda had punched out for the day. She had her purse and was ready to walk out the door. She
saw my sister and niece and started going through their bags counting the items. She not only counted the items once, not twice but three times making sure every item was scanned.
My sister described 4 employees (white) surrounding them as if they were thieves. The people that was involved was Linda, Fran, Nicoli and the assistant manager.
My sister was so taken back that she allowed my 16 year old niece to defend them. What a horrific seen for them. What an embarrassing moment. When you know that you have money and credit cards to pay for the items you purchased but is being accused of a crime. My sister gave Nicoli the credit card and he refused to take it. He stated that he could not touch her card. After a few words were exchanged, he finally swiped her card. In the midst of all of that, Linda threatened to call security on them. I must add that my sister’s card was approved.

What happened on that day was the first time my niece experienced racism. She is so distraught she had to sleep in the same bed as my sister. She was embarrassed, shocked and most of all she felt defeated because of the color of her skin. Our family do not condone racism of any kind. We teach our children to love one another. They are taught to look at people’s hearts and not the color of their skin. We are heartbroken about this incident and we demand some type of repercussions, apologies and to know that it will not happen to another paying customer again. It was wrong and disgraceful. My sister lives in Edge Water. They have 2 homes. She drives a Maserati and her pocketbooks cost more than Linda’s salary. How dare they approach them in that manor only because of the color of their skin.
This is why the world is demonstrating because we are tired of the racism and the stereo types that we deal with on a daily basis for being black in America. Here is a quote from your establishment.

“We will not tolerate unlawful discrimination in any aspect of employment, nor will we tolerate harassment of any individual or group on the basis of any protected characteristic.”
I ask that you look into this incident and be aware of the people that represent you as a store and as cooperation. If you do nothing, then you are part of the problem. I can be reached for questions, comments, concerns and apologies

Albertsons on Maryland, and Silverado in las vegas, is the worst store that i have seen in the 40 years of living in Las Vegas. Just today Jan. 24 2020 between 12.30, and 1.15. Total confusion at cashing out . I waited 15 mins in express line while seeing the store manager, not sure . but it was a lady, who did not do anything to solve the problem that the cashier encountered. There may have been at least 25 people waiting to check out at the four registers that were open. I never got to buy anything, and left like some other who also left their groceries on counters and carts. This is not unusual to run into these problems. I t was bad enough no steaks were out that were on sale, no one lb Oscar Myer bacon, and no $1.99 pork ribs. Man that is pretty bad . believe me , this is an on going thing at this store. I spent 20 years In the supper market back east. This store represents the worst for Las Vegas shoppers. I don't know if I am the only complainer, of all the others who said that they will call or write. Your deli has the most incompetent workers, and that's a fact for sure. I managed a deli for ten years, so i know what I am talking about. I did go to Vons later in the day, and hard to believe they are part of your chain. Maybe you should send some better help from Vons to Albertsons
